๐ŸŒ Cultural note

Sliders are the official food of birthday parties, game-day potlucks, and "I need something that disappears off the platter." Tiny enough that picky kids feel like they're getting a treat, and the portion math is way friendlier than a full sandwich.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pat chicken thighs dry. In a small bowl, mix paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and mustard.
  2. Toss thighs with the rub until evenly coated.
  3. Place in slow cooker. Pour in broth, vinegar, and Worcestershire.
  4. Cover. Cook on LOW for 4 hours, or HIGH for 2-2.5 hours, until thighs shred easily.
  5. Transfer chicken to a bowl. Reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid.
  6. Shred thighs with two forks. They should fall apart with almost no effort.
  7. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker. Add reserved liquid + BBQ sauce. Stir to coat.
  8. Let it sit on WARM for 10 minutes so the sauce soaks in.
  9. Slice slider buns horizontally. Toast lightly if you like the crunch.
  10. Pile 2-3 tbsp chicken on each bottom bun. Top with a pickle. Cap with top bun.
