Our story ๐Ÿ’›

Dash and his family

When my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, the hardest moments weren't dinner โ€” they were the in-between. The "I'm hungry RIGHT NOW" moments. The school lunchbox. The post-soccer crash. The party where every other kid was reaching for the cake.

The lunchbox panic ๐Ÿฅช

So I started a list. Just for me, on the back of an envelope. Snacks I knew were safe. Snacks under 5 carbs (we call them Grab Zone). Snacks around 15 carbs that wouldn't crash her. Real food, kid food, foods she actually liked.

The list got longer. Then I added photos so she could pick at the fridge without asking me. Then I added carb counts so a sitter could see them. Then teachers asked. Then other T1D moms in the parking lot asked. So we made it Brave Little Bites โ€” for every brave kid, and every tired parent who's been there.

Meet Dash ๐Ÿ†

Dash at the cookout

Dash is our cheetah chef. He wears his CGM proudly, just like our brave kids. He's not afraid to ask for a sticker after his finger prick. He shows up wherever kids snack โ€” school, field trips, grandma's, cookouts. He's here to remind kids that Type 1 doesn't mean you miss the fun โ€” it just means you pack the right snack.

The promise ๐Ÿค

Brave Little Bites is educational, not medical. Every carb count is an estimate that varies by brand and serving โ€” always read labels and verify with your care team. We don't replace your endocrinologist or CDCES. We're just the friend who packs the lunch and shares the list.

If anything here makes your day a little easier, that's the whole point. You've got this, friend.
