These are the simple rules of the road for using Brave Little Bites (bravelittlebites.net). We tried to keep them plain. If anything is unclear, email hello@bravelittlebites.net.
1. Accepting these terms 🤝
By using bravelittlebites.net — reading our recipes, downloading the snack guide, buying from the shop, or anything else — you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree, that's totally okay; please don't use the site.
2. Use of our content 📝
Our recipes, blog posts, printables, and the Dash mascot are for your personal use — make them for your family, share them with friends, screenshot a recipe to send to grandma. All good.
What's not okay: reselling our content, republishing recipes word-for-word on another site, or using the Dash character commercially. If you're a fellow T1D parent, school nurse, or care team member who wants to share something with families, just email us — we almost always say yes.
3. Affiliate disclosure 🛒
Brave Little Bites is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may also participate in other affiliate programs over time.
What that means in plain English: some of our product links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend stuff we've actually used or vetted with our care team. That's a promise.
4. Medical disclaimer 🩺
Brave Little Bites is an educational resource, not medical advice. Every carb count on this site is an estimate that varies by brand and serving. Every T1D kid is different. Always verify carb counts, dosing, and food choices with your endocrinologist, CDCES, or care team.
Nothing on this site replaces a conversation with your child's medical team. If you're making a treatment decision, talk to them — not us.
5. Purchases 💳
Our shop is powered by Shopify. When you buy something:
- Digital products (PDF guides, printables, the cookbook) are non-refundable because they're delivered instantly. If you have an issue (didn't get the file, file is corrupted, ordered the wrong thing), email us within 7 days and we'll make it right.
- Physical products (if/when we offer them) follow Shopify's standard return windows — see the shop page for specifics.
- All prices are in US dollars.
6. Intellectual property 🐆
The Brave Little Bites name, the Dash the cheetah mascot and his world, all original photos, illustrations, recipes, and blog content are owned by Jennifer Mendez-Nunez and protected by copyright. Please don't copy them without asking.
The font choices, brand colors, and overall vibe? That's ours too. Get your own vibe, friends. 💛
7. User-submitted content 💬
If we add comments, reviews, or a community feature down the road, here's the rule: be kind. No harassment, no spam, no medical advice to other parents (refer them to their care team), no marketing. We reserve the right to remove anything that doesn't fit.
8. Limitation of liability ⚠️
The site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make sure carb counts, links, and recipes are accurate, but we can't guarantee they're error-free. Use your judgment, check labels, talk to your care team.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Brave Little Bites and Jennifer Mendez-Nunez are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site, including any health-related outcomes. You are the parent. You make the calls.
9. Governing law 🏛️
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any disputes will be handled in Texas courts.
10. Changes to these terms 📅
We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Big changes will get a heads-up on the site or via email.
TikTok Integration — "Brave Little Bites Poster" App
Brave Little Bites operates a TikTok developer application named "Brave Little Bites Poster" (TikTok App ID 7642335172947544072) which integrates with TikTok via the Content Posting API and Login Kit. By using TikTok features within the Brave Little Bites platform, you agree to comply with both these Terms of Service and TikTok's own Terms of Service and TikTok Developer Terms of Service.
The Brave Little Bites Poster app is provided as-is for the purpose of publishing branded short-form video content to the official Brave Little Bites TikTok business account. All posting is user-initiated; no automated or scheduled posting occurs. Brave Little Bites reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Brave Little Bites Poster app's TikTok integration at any time without notice.
